Kemi Tourism Ltd. is a unique tourism operator in Finnish Lapland. We operate as a shipping company as we own the world´s only tourism icebreaker, Icebreaker Sampo, in Kemi. We are also knows for the world`s biggest SnowCastle that we built in Kemi in 1996 and have been building from snow and ice ever since. Now our operations are all-year-round and we are looking for new partners in promoting our unique products here in Sea Lapland. We are a city-owned tourism company that stands out from the rest. We make creative and bold solutions while respecting our owner, the city of Kemi and its residents, and operate respecting the rugged character of Sea Lapland. We have more than 30 years of experience in the icebreaking business and are experts in building from snow and ice. We have developed to be a significant M&E organizer in Finnish Lapland with year-round SnowCastle area services.

Where we are?
We are located in Kemi, the city by the sea that is frozen for half a year. Kemi is situated in Finnish Lapland, just half an hour from Sweden, 1,5 hour drive away from Arctic Circle, Rovaniemi and Oulu. You can arrive to Kemi by car, train, plane or boat.
What we offer?
We offer Icebreaker Cruises from December to April and all-year-round restaurant, accommodation, M&E and snow & ice services in the SnowCastle area.

Interreg Aurora AECT -project
We are part of two Interreg- projects in order to improve the sustainable ways in tourism business, cross-border collaboration, product development, international marketing and to find new sales channels and partners. As we are located in both Finnish Lapland and on the coast, we collaborate with all Lapland area in Finland together with Swedish Lapland and Northern Norway AETC – Arctic Europe Tourism Cluster
Interreg Aurora BCT -project
The Bothnian Coastal Route project, including northern Finnish and Swedish destinations, aims to increase awareness of the coastal route around the Bothnian Bay and over the Kvarken strait as an attractive travel route for both foreign visitors and the local population. Kemi is a city by the sweetest sea in the world offering Icebreaker Cruises in winter and other services by and on the sea in summer and proud to be part of this coastal collaboration in Bothnian Coastal Route.
Tourbit European project
We were selected to be part of the European Tourbit project in 2023 in order to develop the digitalization of our company marketing processes. We have introduced Hubspot’s marketing tool and automation into our company`s marketing process, which will enable us to have significantly more agile, targeted and data-based customer communication, as well as bring us the much-needed recognition and additional sales. We created together with our service provider Avidly an operational model and strategy for Kemi Tourism ltd. for digital marketing.
